Below are two quick guides providing citation examples from the latest edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). The library also provides access to RefWorks, an online citation tool, that allows you to import citations from databases and websites and automatically creates bibliographies (be sure to set the output style to APA, 7th edition).

Academic Search Ultimate (EBSCO) – This database includes full-text coverage (1965 to present) for peer-reviewed journals, magazines, newspapers and books for most academic disciplines. E-journal titles include:

Classification of Diseases, Functioning and Disability (CDC)

Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy – is a peer-reviewed medical journal covering research about musculoskeletal rehabilitation, orthopedics, physical therapy, and sports medicine.

New England Journal of Medicine

Nursing Reference Center (EBSCO) – Nursing Reference Center is a point-of-care evidence-based resource that delivers the best available and most recent clinical evidence and knowledge on conditions and diseases. Resources include skills and procedures, drug information, patient education, practice resources and continuing education.

PubMed  – PubMed is the National Library of Medicine’s Medline database providing abstracts and indexing for biomedical journals published in the U.S. and in foreign countries. It also covers chemistry journals. Topics include medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, psychiatry, pre-clinical sciences, medical education, public health and more. SAGE Premier Journals – This web database provides full-text access to more than 650 peer-reviewed journals, including high-impact research and international titles on behalf of over 500 scholarly and professional societies. E-journal titles include Clinical Case Studies, among others.

Trip Medical Database –This clinical search engine allows health professionals to identify high-quality clinical evidence for practice and care. Evidence is gathered by Trip from a network of users. NOTE: Users must register to use this free resource. Coverage: 1997 – current
