The following is a list of online databases available through the Frederick Douglass Library to assist you with research in Business, Management and Accounting. These resources can be accessed by clicking on the title links below. When connecting from off campus, you will be prompted for the 14-digit barcode from the back of your HawkCard ID and your last name.

Below are two quick guides providing citation examples from the latest edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). The library also provides access to RefWorks, an online citation management tool, that allows you to import citations from databases and websites and automatically create bibliographies (be sure to set the output style to APA, 7th edition).

Business Insights: Essentials (Gale) – This resource brings together company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and periodicals. Search this database to find detailed company and industry news and information.

Business Source Complete (EBSCO) – This source is the world’s definitive scholarly business database, providing full-text coverage of hundreds of peer-reviewed journals and publications covering all aspects of business. Subject areas include marketing management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, economics, international business and more. Non-journal content includes financial data, case studies, investment research reports, market research reports, country reports, company profiles and SWOT analysis. Country Reports (Business Source Complete) – Access Country Reports by clicking the link under “Browse by Type.” These reports provide in-depth background information on economic competitiveness for a given country, as well as background notes on the country and topics related to public administration.

GreenFILE (EBSCO) – This database is a collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles. Content includes the environmental effects of individuals, corporations and local/national governments and how to minimize these effects. Topics include global climate change, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling and more.

JSTOR – An electronic archive of core journals, including the subject area of Business.

MarketLine Company Profiles (Business Source Complete) – Full-text profiles can be accessed and retrieved using the A-Z index.

Nexis Uni (Lexis Nexis) – Formerly Lexis Nexis Academic, this database contains news, legal cases, law reviews, company information and many other business, law and news publications. Includes over 15,000 full-text sources. Content includes New York Times, U.S. Supreme Court decisions, company profiles, SEC filings and more. Note: Washington Post is no longer included in Nexis Uni.

Regional Business News (EBSCO) – This database provides full-text coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from the metropolitan and rural areas of the U.S. Updated daily.

SAGE Premier Journals (SAGE Publishing) – This web database provides full-text access to more than 650 peer-reviewed journals, including high-impact research and international titles on behalf of over 500 scholarly and professional societies. Coverage includes business, management and accounting. Search this database by topic, browse by journal title, or browse by the Business & Management discipline.

ScienceDirect (Elsevier) – This full-text database contains peer-reviewed journal titles and ebooks covering the fields of business, science and technology. Search this database by topic, journal/ebook title, or browse journals by the Business, Management and Accounting domain.

SWOT Reports (Business Source Complete) – Access SWOT Reports by clicking the link “Browse by Type.” These reports provide detailed information about a company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The SWOT Analysis data indexed in this database is provided by Datamonitor. Industry coverage includes, Automotive, Consumer Markets, Energy, Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare, Technology, and Transport and Logistics.

Wall Street Journal (1984-Current) (ProQuest) – This database provides indexing, abstracts and full-text for the Wall Street Journal, a financial paper of record. Coverage: 1/2/84 – current

Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection (EBSCO) – This resource is a comprehensive database with nearly 470 full-text titles. It covers information concerning topics in emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry and psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.

PsycINFO (EBSCO) – This database is the most comprehensive index in psychology and related fields, with more than 1.7 million citations and abstracts of journal articles, book chapters and books, technical reports and dissertations. Its holdings include material from 1,700 periodicals in over 30 languages. Coverage: 1887 – current
