DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nLearn about hive inspections that can keep you and your bees safe at a workshop hosted by UMES Extension.\n\n\n\nMaster the art of opening a hive with confidence at a workshop hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore Extension’s Apiary Program on May 9\, 2026.\n\n\n\nLearn to identify the queen\, assess brood patterns\, recognize healthy versus concerning signs and develop a systematic inspection routine that keeps you and your bees safe.\n\n\n\nThe workshop will be presented by beekeeper Stephen Goewey from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the apiary located at the UMES Research\, Extension and Teaching Farm on Stewart Neck Road in Princess Anne\, Md.\n\n\n\nThe cost is $20 per participant and lunch is included.
