DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nBring more life to your backyard by learning how to build birdhouses and bee boxes at a workshop offered by University of Maryland Eastern Shore Extension.\n\n\n\nThis Workshop is for the Birds (and Bees) will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday\, March 28\, at the university’s Research\, Extension and Teaching Farm on Stewart Neck Road in Princess Anne.\n\n\n\nIn this hands‑on workshop\, you’ll learn to build both birdhouses and native bee boxes while also discovering the vital role these creatures play in North American habitats.\n\n\n\nUnderstand which birdhouses are best for specific species\, and get tips to maintain them across multiple seasons.\n\n\n\nDiscover how native bees boost pollination far beyond honeybees\, and birds naturally help control garden pests. You’ll leave with practical knowledge\, printed plans for multiple birdhouses\, and your own handmade habitat for your backyard.\n\n\n\nThe cost is $20 per participant and lunch will be provided. Pre-registration is required as class size is limited.
