{"id":1418,"date":"2022-03-06T18:34:28","date_gmt":"2022-03-06T22:34:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/ehs\/?page_id=1418"},"modified":"2023-08-01T09:50:10","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T13:50:10","slug":"hazard-communication-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/ehs\/hazard-communication-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Hazard Communication Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the Hazard Communication Program is to provide&nbsp;employees with information and training on hazardous chemical substances in the workplace.&nbsp; The goal of this program is to reduce the incidence of chemical source illnesses and injures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Employees who have the&nbsp;<em>potential<\/em>&nbsp;for exposure to hazardous chemicals are provided with&nbsp;appropriate training and information to assure that they are aware of potential chemical hazards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>University Policy<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a policy of UMES to comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regulatory Authority<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">29 CFR 1910.1200, OSHA Hazard Communication Standard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maryland Right-to-Know Law<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\u00a0written\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2023\/08\/umes-hazard-communication-plan.pdf\">UMES Hazard Communication Plan<\/a>\u00a0was developed pursuant to\u00a0Maryland State and federal Hazard Communication regulations and details how UMES will comply with these regulations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The purpose of the Hazard Communication Program is to provide&nbsp;employees with information and training on hazardous chemical substances in the workplace.&nbsp; The goal of this program is to reduce the incidence of chemical source illnesses and injures.
