Chime is not a bank account, but they have ACH capability through a third-party bank; this is why payments are not immediately withdrawn from your Chime Account.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Account payments accepted are cash (in person only), certified and personal checks, and&nbsp;all major&nbsp;credit\/debit cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accepted credit\/debit cards include:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"719\" height=\"120\" src=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/comptroller\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/56\/2024\/07\/accepteddebitcredit.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1739\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Credit and debit card payments <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MUST<\/span><\/strong> be made online via TouchNet.\u00a0 All credit\/debit card payments will be charged an additional service fee by PayPath (the credit card processor).\u00a0 Domestic cards are 2.99%, international cards are 4.25%, and a minimum of $3.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please contact your banking institution to ensure your available daily spending limit is high enough to cover the payment amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electronic checks(checking\/savings) payments are accepted online via TouchNet without additional service fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ACH PAYMENTS<\/strong>&nbsp;are NOT immediately deducted from your bank account.&nbsp; It may take up to 7 business days for the payment to be deducted from your bank account by your banking institution.&nbsp; Please ensure that the funds are available in your bank account until they are withdrawn to prevent the payment from being returned as non-sufficient funds.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mail-in payments should be addressed to:&nbsp;<\/strong><br>University of Maryland Eastern Shore<br>Office of Student Accounts<br>SDC Building, Suite 1160&nbsp;<br>Princess Anne, MD 21853&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>An enrollment hold<\/strong>&nbsp;will be assessed to the student account preventing any future enrollment until payments are up to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Electronic and personal checks<\/strong> are accepted, but if returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF), the check amount will be charged back to the student&#8217;s account with a $35.00 penalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A BPC indicator&nbsp;<mark style=\"background-color:#ffff00\" class=\"has-inline-color\">may<\/mark>&nbsp;be assessed to the student account, preventing future payments with a checking or savings account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TouchNet and the University<\/strong>&nbsp;reserve the right to block saved payment methods due to payment returns for Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF).&nbsp; The saved payment method will be blocked because the payment processor has flagged the payment account as high-risk to prevent repeated failed transactions and additional return fees.&nbsp; To have the payment method reset you must pay the account balance in full using a different payment method and request to have your initial saved payment method reset.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Saved Payment Account Update:<\/strong>&nbsp;Saved payment accounts must be updated when the current saved payment account is unable to be used to process payments.&nbsp; This is usually due to insufficient funds or incorrect account information.&nbsp; If the saved payment account isn&#8217;t updated, the current payment account will be used for the next month&#8217;s automatic deduction and may result in addition return fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The student&#8217;s name and account number must be indicated on a check sent for payment of charges on a student account. In-person account payments should be presented to the University Cashier, located on the first floor of the Student Development Center.
