{"id":1370,"date":"2021-07-26T10:35:20","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T14:35:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/comptroller\/?page_id=1370"},"modified":"2024-10-08T13:07:02","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T17:07:02","slug":"third-party-billing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/comptroller\/third-party-billing\/","title":{"rendered":"Third Party Billing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Third Party Billing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Third party billing<\/strong>&nbsp;is when a private or government agency is paying for any portion of your tuition, fees, or books AND they are requesting a bill from the University.&nbsp;If a student is eligible for tuition assistance, a written contract or letter may be accepted at registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All contracts and letters&nbsp;<strong>MUST<\/strong>&nbsp;include the following information in order to be processed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Student&#8217;s name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student&#8217;s ID number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific charges the company is willing to pay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific semester covered by the contract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name and signature of officer authorizing the contract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please submit all requests to the student accounts office at studentaccounts@umes.edu.\u00a0 Third Party Billing Invoices will be created and submitted approximately 2 weeks after the end of the drop\/add period each semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Military Billing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Armed Forces Tuition Assistance is a benefit paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. The Department of Defense has directed a uniform tuition assistance fiscal policy across all military services.
