Williams<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President John Taylor Williams&nbsp;loved to entertain after Maryland State College football games and barbecue \u201canything that [would] hold still.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Williams\u2019 barbeque sauce&nbsp;recipe consisted of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 qt. vinegar<\/li><li>1 qt. ketchup<\/li><li>Juice of 2 lemons<\/li><li>1 \u00bd tablespoons dry mustard<\/li><li>2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce<\/li><li>3 tablespoons of red pepper<\/li><li>4 table spoons of black pepper<\/li><li>3 tablespoons of salt<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His recipe is still used occasionally by the university&#8217;s catering service at campus events organized to feed large&nbsp;groups of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">1957 marked the 70<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the institution  &#8212;  then known as Maryland State College  &#8212;  as well as the 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the presidency of\u00a0\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwcp.umes.edu\/125\/john-taylor-williams\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1381\">John Taylor Williams<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umes.edu\/125\/Content\/Stories\/John-Taylor-Williams\/\">\u00a0<\/a>.
